THERAPY FOR TRAUMA
Supporting neurodivergent women in Camp Hill and online throughout PA & NJ
Past experiences have a way of seeping into the present.
All day long, you’re pretending everything is fine: masking your emotions just to feel safe or accepted. Over-apologizing. Over-analyzing. Over-accommodating.
Maybe you’re…
Feeling triggered by certain thoughts, memories, or places
Cutting off people you care about and not fully understanding why
Zoning out mid-conversation or spacing out during everyday tasks
Replaying moments from your childhood on a loop
No matter how hard you try, you can’t make sense of the past. And sometimes you’re not sure you even want to, for fear of what you’ll find.
Here, you’re safe enough to take off the mask.
WE BELIEVE
Your trauma is valid & your healing is possible.
For neurodivergent folks, trauma hides in plain sight but is often misread as anxiety, depression, burnout, or just being “too sensitive.” Then you come to therapy, and you're expected to relive painful memories before you even feel safe in the room, or you're offered coping strategies that don’t work for your brain and body.
At Bee-You Counseling, we do things differently. Here’s how:
First, we slow things down. We start by getting to know the real you—your needs, your nervous system, your goals—and co-create a space of safety and care.
We focus on grounding and toolbox skills to help you feel more present and more in control. These are practical, body-based strategies to support your day-to-day functioning and emotions.
When you're ready, we use trauma-specific methods like EMDR, Brainspotting, and other bottom-up approaches that begin with the body—not just the brain. These methods are especially effective for neurodivergent clients who haven’t connected with traditional talk therapy.
We also weave in somatic work (body-centered techniques) that help you reconnect with yourself, notice your cues, and release what’s been held too long.
Our therapists are curious, collaborative, and deeply attuned to your pace and your needs. We know that, in the past, therapy (or even life in general) may have made you feel like you were the problem. But you’re not something to fix. Instead, we’re here to help you process the things that have become too heavy to face alone.
Above all: you will never be asked to become someone you’re not.

Frequently asked questions
-
Trauma therapy helps you create a sense of safety and stability—first in your body, then in your relationships and memories. For neurodivergent folks, it’s especially important that therapy doesn’t feel retraumatizing or pathologizing. Our work is gentle, affirming, and focused on building tools that actually work for your brain and body.
-
We start with regulation and grounding skills to help your nervous system settle. From there, we may use EMDR, Brainspotting, or other somatic-based, bottom-up approaches depending on what feels right for you. This work is client-led—we’ll move at your pace and adjust along the way.
-
Many of our clients come to us after therapy that left them feeling misunderstood or unsupported—especially when it comes to trauma and neurodivergence. Our therapists are neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed. We focus on your lived experience, your safety, and your goals. You are never “too much” here.
-
Nope. You are welcome here as you are—whether or not you have a diagnosis, or even if you’re still figuring out what you’re dealing with. We care less about labels and more about how you feel and what you need.
-
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to share everything right away—or ever. We’ll move at your pace, starting with building safety and trust. You can learn grounding and regulation tools first, so your nervous system doesn’t feel overwhelmed. This allows you to feel more in control of your healing and your therapeutic experience.
