You deserve to feel safe being your full, amazing, messy self.

Meet River Robbins (they/them), neurodivergent affirming master’s level clinical intern in Camp Hill, PA

You're looking for someone who truly understands...

Maybe you're tired of feeling like you don't quite fit anywhere—not fully yourself with family, friends, or even in spaces that are supposed to feel welcoming.

Perhaps you're carrying pain from a childhood that didn't feel safe, where your authentic self had to hide to survive.

Or maybe you find yourself being incredibly harsh with yourself, holding yourself to impossible standards while extending endless compassion to everyone else.

You might be navigating your identity—who you are, who you love, how you want to show up in the world—while dealing with systems and cultures that don't always make space for the real you.

You are in the right place.

I believe healing happens when you feel truly seen.

I'm here to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your authentic self—the person who's been there all along, beneath the layers of protection and survival strategies you've had to develop.

As a cultural-relational therapist, I understand that we don't exist in a vacuum. The environments we grew up in, the cultures we're part of, and the various systems around us have all shaped our experiences. Together, we'll explore how these influences have impacted you, honoring both the strength you've developed and the wounds that need tending.

I have a deep passion for working with LGBTQIA+ folks and anyone who's experienced trauma, especially those whose childhoods taught them that their authentic selves weren't safe or welcome. Whether you're still figuring out who you are or you know exactly who you are but struggle to show up that way in the world, I'm here to support you.

What therapy with me looks like...

You get to be your full self here. That means bringing all your parts—the ones you're proud of and the ones you're still learning to accept. There's no need to perform or be "the good client."

Your pace matters. Healing isn't linear, and we'll honor wherever you are in your process without pressure to be further along than you are.

We'll work on self-compassion together. If you're someone who's incredibly kind to others but harsh with yourself, we'll explore what it might look like to extend that same kindness inward.

Identity exploration is welcome. Whether you're questioning, exploring, or affirming aspects of who you are, this is a space where all parts of your identity are celebrated.

Trauma-informed care. I understand that trauma—especially childhood trauma—lives in our bodies and our nervous systems, not just our thoughts. Our work together will honor this.

My approach is rooted in...

Cultural-relational therapy - recognizing that our relationships and cultural contexts shape who we are and how we move through the world

Trauma-informed care - understanding how past experiences impact present-day life and relationships

Identity-affirming practice - celebrating and supporting all aspects of who you are

Neurodiversity-affirming care - honoring different ways of being and thinking in the world

After 17 years of volunteering in the field, I made the leap and went back to school to become the change I wish to see in the mental health world. I'm currently completing my clinical counseling internship under supervision, bringing fresh energy and deep commitment to this work. I identify as Neurodivergent and Queer, and chose this field because I believe everyone deserves to feel at home in their own skin and safe to be their authentic self. I spend my personal time with my wife and cats where I can be found gardening, reading, binging a good show, or fostering even more cats!

I understand that finding a therapist can feel vulnerable, especially if you've had experiences where you didn't feel understood or accepted. I'm honored you're considering trusting me with your story.

Our approach to therapy is Person-Centered & Affirming.

That means we let your needs guide our work together, pulling from different modalities to fit your goals and needs.
